Let me ask you...
How focused are you on achieving your goals?
If you’re anything like me, you probably have several you are working towards and many more already checked off the list from past accomplishments.
Goal setting and goal achievement is important. It’s how we get ahead in life.
BUT… there is a downside to goal setting that many people fall victim to, often without realizing it.

They forget to enjoy the journey!
Sound familiar?
On the path to achievement, we all spend huge amounts of time on the “process” to get from where we are to where we want to be. Until you learn to actually embrace and enjoy the journey, you are quite frankly missing out on the most important part...

Allow me to tell you a quick story...
The Destination vs the Journey
There’s a story of a man who wanted to travel more than anything. He set his sights on a fabulous trip. He was going to visit several countries. He collected maps and guidebooks. He spent hours planning this dream vacation meticulously.
Sadly, before he could make the trip, his heart gave out. He wound up in the hospital and eventually died without having set a single foot outside the country.
If you look at this man's life from the perspective of someone only interested in the goal, you'd probably see this man's life as a tragedy. He missed out. He never realized the goal, and in the end, never went anywhere at all.
Yet the man was happy in his life. He had his goal, but he also enjoyed preparing for his goal.
He delighted every time he found a new book to read about the countries he wanted to visit.
He made great friends while studying the language and culture of the places he wanted to go.
The hours he spent poring over maps enabled him to live the journey in his imagination. He was content.
Why?
Because in the end, the journey was more important than the destination.
